From time to time I've been asked to sign my name in my painted pictures, but I refused.
Signing the pictures has been a tradition to painters for ages.
To me, an artist's signature seems annoying and like a plague to the work of art. Nevertheless, a signature or monogram which is well-designed or artistically hidden in the picture can be the exceptions.
Since ancient Siam, numberless mural painters willingly have kept their names anonymous. No names were signed. Those mural painters became honored and so exalted making sacrifice to the Bhudda although their names were forgotten as time passed by. The mural has long been acknowledged as traditonal pure art of Thailand no matter who painted it.
Todays, the case of artwork created by unknown artist might be a possibility of art forgery. It is not justified that the artwork is valued regarding to the name of the person who made it, not its quality.
Although I belong to no religion, I am delighted to paint with distinctive quality, recognizable to myself in spite of being unknown to others.

Thai Flood 2011: Loss and Damage
Although the troubled water was already gone, it left serious damage behind. My house needs a big cleaning and renovation which seems there's no end. Almost all of my watercolors featuring in my dA gallery, including a few canvases and old works from high school, were so damaged that I had to throw them away with sorrow. Fortunately, my tools of the trade are totally safe, so I can make a new start. The world in 2012 is unpredictable. It could be like what happened in the movie "2012", but I'll keep painting anyway.

About These Features
We here at Traditional-Artists (https://www.deviantart.com/traditional-artists) literally get hundreds to thousands of submissions of quality artwork every month, but some of our art submitted we showcase in our weekly journal because it's technically beautiful, interesting or shows some really unique or thoughtful aspect. We've been doing this for a long time now, and one day we just thought - wow, why not share these with ALL of dA? So, here they are.....

You can make a non- intrusive sig...I include the names of my husband, and two daughters in every single painting I do....they are hidden and I doubt anyone could find them without being inside of my brain. I don't think you want your signature that well hidden, but my point is, it can be hidden enough to not be intrusive.
